Why we exist
Every year, billions of dollars in benefits and assistance go unclaimed in the United States. Not because people don't need the help, but because the system is scattered across dozens of agencies, websites, and acronyms, and nobody hands you a map.
ResourceMatcher is that map. We read the program rules, translate them into plain English, and point you to the official place to apply. Whether it's food assistance, Medicare savings programs, disability benefits, or simply paying less for the insurance you already carry, our job is to help you find out what's worth your time.
What we are (and what we're not)
- We're free. We never charge for information, and no legitimate program we cover charges an application fee either.
- We're independent. ResourceMatcher is a privately owned website. We are not a government agency, and we're not affiliated with any program we write about.
- We link official sources. Every benefit guide links to the official government application, not a middleman.
- We're upfront about advertising. Some offers on this site come from partners who compensate us. That's how we keep the site free. Compensation may affect where offers appear, but it never changes the guidance in our content.
How we write our guides
Our editorial team builds each guide from official program sources: agency websites, program handbooks, and government publications. We avoid hype, we don't promise eligibility or dollar amounts, and we include a "watch out for" section in every guide because the benefits space attracts scammers, and we'd rather you hear it from us first.
Program rules change constantly. If you spot something out of date, tell us. We review every report.
